How to Apply

Applications are reviewed and successful applicants receive a conditional or unconditional offer letter.

Entry Requirements

AUE offers multiple pathways into higher education, including certificate, diploma, bachelor’s, honours, master’s and doctoral study, as well as mature-age and Recognition of Prior Learning access routes.

Certificate Programmes (NQF Level 5)

NSSC Ordinary Level with at least 20 points across 5 subjects, including English. Equivalent qualification or RPL may also apply.

Diploma Programmes (NQF Level 6)

NSSC Ordinary Level with at least 25 points across 5 subjects, including English. Relevant Level 5 certificate or equivalent may also provide access.

Bachelor’s Degrees (NQF Level 7 / 8)

NSSC Ordinary and/or Higher Level with 25–30 points depending on programme. English is required and programme-specific subjects may apply.

Honours & Postgraduate Diploma (NQF Level 8)

A recognised Bachelor’s degree in a cognate or related field. Equivalent qualifications may be considered where appropriate.

Master’s Degree Programmes (NQF Level 9)

An Honours degree or Postgraduate Diploma in a related field. Some programmes may also require work experience, an interview, or a research proposal.

Doctoral Programmes (NQF Level 10)

A recognised Master’s degree in a relevant discipline plus a viable doctoral research proposal, subject to academic approval and supervisory capacity.

Mature Age Entry

Applicants with relevant work experience and demonstrated readiness may be considered even if they do not meet standard school-leaving requirements.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

AUE recognises formal, non-formal, and informal learning. Applicants may submit a Portfolio of Evidence for access, advanced standing, or credit transfer.

Access, Progression & Opportunity

At AUE, admission is not designed only for applicants who already meet direct bachelor’s entry. Certificate and diploma pathways create important alternative entry routes for students who need to build academic progression toward degree study. Mature-age entry and RPL also ensure that relevant work experience and demonstrated competence are recognised as valid pathways into higher education.

Tuition & Fees

Tuition fees are quoted per academic year in Namibian Dollars (N$). Payment plans and funding options may be available.

Honours Programmes N$28,000

Doctoral Programmes N$35,000

Registration fees apply separately. Current registration fees are Certificate N$1,500, Undergraduate N$2,200, and Postgraduate N$2,500. Other annual charges may include Technology Fee (N$650), SRC Fee (N$100), Administration Fee (N$150), and optional E-Books / Digital Resources Fee (N$500). Remarks and promotional examinations are charged per module.

Students may apply for national student funding or external bursaries where eligibility criteria are met.

Payment Plans

Flexible semester-based or monthly payment options may be made available, subject to institutional policy.
